Root to Fruit ensures that the carbon stored via your trees will not be allocated to another client or entity. This is guaranteed within our inventory database, within which each planting location receives an independent identification code. The trees you purchase will be planted in your name, for the purpose of offsetting your carbon emissions. The local benefits of the trees (fruit, fodder, etc) will be allocated to the local landowner.

You will receive a Root to Fruit certificate displaying the GPS location of your trees. Using these GPS coordinates, you are invited to monitor your trees’ growth.

Root to Fruit will plant an additional 20% of the number of trees purchased, to compensate for potential deaths. Root to Fruit will actively monitor your trees to ensure maximum survival, but cannot be held accountable for natural damages. Every effort will be made to ensure the survival of your trees to a minimum of 10 years.

Planting partners within Malawi will sign a contract outlining the requirements of caring for your trees, and said requirements will be monitored regularly by Root to Fruit staff and volunteers.

Root to Fruit will choose location-specific species (predominantly indigenous to Malawi) to represent your offset purchase in Malawi. The selection will include locally-desired fruit trees, in an effort to improve nutritional value in the region.
